During our unit on the human body systems, we created life-size models of the human body. This was a fun, engaging, in-class project that brought a deeper understanding of how our body systems work together to keep us alive.

During our writing time, the students and I created an anchor chart. Their version is in their language and writing notebook. Together, we used prepositional phrase to tell our prepositional phrase friend the time, location, and direction of the bee to protect her.

In celebration of black history month, each classroom decorated their door highlighting a Black figure born in Alabama. Our classroom chose Robin Roberts, a host of Good Morning America who raised substantial awareness for Bone Marrow Cancer. The students used articles to research key facts about her life. Their efforts were compiled and displayed in paragraphs next to our door. They came up with the theme of using the Who Is/ Who Was series, and I copied a caricature drawing of Robin Roberts.
